Terms and Conditions

What you can expect from me

  1. I will arrange a mutually convenient time to have the consultation meeting/s. These will be completed virtually with you and with school (if appropriate).
  2. I need the consent forms and school focus forms signed and sent to me prior to a meeting being scheduled. I am happy to send out the invitation for the consultation meeting to all involved.
  3. We will have a solution focused consultation together and / or with school.
  4. Each consultation will be up to sixty minutes.
  5. You will receive a report which captures the information shared in the consent forms, school focus forms, any extra salient points captured in the consultation and agreed actions.
  6. After the consultation and written report, I will invoice you. If we have a review consultation, the same applies.
  7. The report will be sent to you within fifteen working days from the date of the consultation. In order to adhere to data protection, reports are emailed to you with password protection. The password will be given to you separately.
  8. Once the report is sent out, psychological opinion, information provided on the day and advice will not be changed. However if I have written something that is factually incorrect, then I will change this and re-send the report.
  9. If for any reason I need to postpone the appointment, I will endeavour to rearrange as close to the original date as possible.
  10. If I have any concerns around child protection issues with your child, I will speak to the Child Protection Officer from your child’s setting. This is to ensure Safe Guarding of your child.

What I ask of you

  1. Before working with you, I need to have signed consent from parents/carers and if school is involved, the completed school focus forms. I will also need any other professional reports sent to me prior to my involvement.
  2. All paperwork and reports need to be sent to me before the consultation and consultations will only be arranged once received. This is to ensure that I have time to read the paperwork thoroughly.
  3. You understand that any changes or lack of changes to your child’s situation made through the consultation are not the responsibility of the educational psychologist and you and / or their school is solely responsible for these changes.
  4. You are aware that consultation sessions are not any form of therapy, counselling, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis or any other form of mental healthcare treatment, nor is it to be used as a substitute for professional advice by legal, medical commerce financial, business or other qualified professionals.
  5. If it is appropriate, the client will seek independent professional guidance in the areas indicated above and you understand that all decisions and actions in these areas are the client’s sole responsibility.
  6. All invoices need to be paid within five working days of the report being sent out.
  7. The hourly rate is £85/hour. This includes: consultation meetings, any direct individual work, any emails, any telephone calls, all admin including reading of reports / consent forms / school focus forms and associated admin including report writing and organisation of meetings.
  8. If you need to cancel or postpone, please give me at least 48 hours’ notice. If it is provided later than this, the time scheduled for the consultation/s will be charged for. If required, I will endeavour to rearrange the appointment as close to the original date as possible.
  9. You have read and agree to the GDPR policy which can be found in the privacy policy at GDPR & Privacy Policy.

General

  1. In the event of the client feeling mental, physical or emotional distress or related ailments or conditions which they believe to be related either directly or indirectly to the coaching sessions, the client will not hold the educational psychologist liable for any loss or cost incurred or to any person related to the client. The client will indemnify the coach in the event of such a claim.
  2. Except as expressly set out in this agreement the educational psychologist will have no liability to the client. This agreement reflects the entire agreement and understanding between the client and the educational psychologist regarding the matters in this agreement.

Sessions held through consultation do not diagnose, prescribe, treat or cure any disease or condition either physical or mental. Coaching should not be construed as a prescription, a promise of benefits, claims of cures or a guarantee of results to be achieved. Any information, instruction or advice given is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical or psychological diagnosis and care. You should not discontinue or modify any medication and / or treatment presently being taken without obtaining approval from your healthcare professional. Always consult your healthcare professional before making any changes to your diet, lifestyle or prescription drugs.
